Dubai, February 12 – MIM driver David Vidales scored a top-10 finish in his maiden Asian F3 series race with Abu Dhabi Racing by Prema at the Dubai Grand Prix Circuit today. Vidales has just joined the series in preparation for his commitment with Prema ahead of the 2021 Formula Regional European by Alpine championship, and will only dispute the two closing rounds (consisting of three races each) of the challenging Asian F3 series. This means that, in his first race weekend, the 18-year old Spaniard was confronted with many drivers who already had quite a lot of mileage under their belts in the Middle East winter championship. Nevertheless, Vidales’ effort in the qualifying session gained him a fourth-row slot on the grid for the 30-minutes race on Friday. After the start, David found himself in 10th position and held on through a quite uneventful race, which ended under the Safety Car, to gain his first point in the series. Now he looks ahead to the remaining two events of the weekend to gain more experience and familiarize with the track.
