Monaco, October 10 – The ninth round of the Formula Regional by Alpine Championship saw Monaco Increase driver David Vidales clinch another podium finish in the first of the two events. This result is even more important considering that Vidales had started the Saturday race from a relatively low P9 on the grid. Once again, the 19-year old Spaniard took full advantage of his well-known ability at the start, then swiftly came around the melee that had involved three drivers in front of him to come out in fourth position and, finally, snatched third place away from Grégoire Saucy, crossing the finish line in third place a mere 1sec594 from winner Paul Aron. The Mugello weekend, though, proved to be challenging for Vidales, who struggled with incorrect tyre pressure and low straightline speed and could not manage better than P20 in the second qualifying. Yet, he was able to move from there and gain another five places and take P15 in the Sunday Race. David’s total point tally is now at 101 as the series moves towards the final round at Monza.
