Imola, Italy, April 17th – Monaco Increase Management driver David Vidales couldn’t have hoped for more in the opening round of the Formula Regional Eurocup by Alpine series at Imola. David has plenty of reasons to call “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” his favorite race track, as this is the circuit he achieved his first single-seater win on, in July 2020. Today, he rounded up his personal score by leading from pole position all the way to the chequered flag, despite a triple safety car interruption in the 30-minutes-plus-one-lap event. In the morning qualifying session, which defines the starting grid for Race-2 the Prema Powerteam ace was set for another pole lap when his team-mate span right in front of him. To avoid a collision, not only did Vidales lose valuable lap time (about fourth tenths of a second according to team estimates) but he also crossed the finish line just as the red flag came out. So his timed lap was deleted and he had to settle for P5 for the Sunday’s race. Yet, David is ready to take the fight as he feels that his car has a lot of potential for another good result.
